Anna Le Gouais

Anna Le Gouais is a PhD researcher at the University of Cambridge within the MRC Epidemiology Unit and the Centre for Diet and Activity Research (CEDAR). Her research focuses on challenges and opportunities for new walking and cycling routes and open spaces which encourage physical activity. She has a background in civil engineering, with an MEng degree in Engineering, Economics and Management from the University of Oxford. She also has an MSc in Water Management (Community Water and Sanitation) from Cranfield University and has worked in international development in low and middle income countries. With her experience in public health, local government, policy and civil engineering, Anna is able to undertake pragmatic, mixed method research which she hopes will help support the creation of healthier communities, enabling increased levels of physical activity and reducing the risks of disease and premature mortality.
