Dr. Ellen Vincent is a senior lecturer for Horticulture program in the Plants and Environmental Sciences Department at Clemson University. She oversees the Sustainable Landscape Demonstration Garden on campus which features native plants and education. An accessible webpage provides access to the project and students serve as educational ambassadors. Students also maintain the garden space and conduct surveys of passersby perceptions of the installation. Dr. Vincent’s Ph.D. is in Environmental Design and Planning from Clemson University. She is a Certified Arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture and specializes in low-maintenance landscapes. Her research areas focus on nature and health and sustainable garden design, installation, and maintenance. Ellen teaches sustainable landscape design, landscapes + health, and other classes.
